Overlord Volume 1

I'll write more in the future when I've thought a bit more on the book. But one of the major issues I have with it is that it seems to suffer a lot from the "first book problem" where the narrative is nothing 'fun' because it lacks any details to be really invested into or have enough development to really care about the characters. From what I've experienced from the series, it definitely requires some time before it gets on its feet. Although for some, volumes 2/3 may be enough for you to get hooked. So if you haven't read the light novel or haven't really explored much after the first volume. I recommend relooking at the series and at least checking the second volume.

Spoiler Zone

Overall the events of the book are placed into 3 main chunks. First the initial setup for the isekai, the exploration of the New World and the initial arrival in Carne village, and the fight against the Slaine Theocracy.
